St. Leo School
St. Leo Catholic School is a Middle States Accredited Preschool to Grade 8 school in the Diocese of Erie.
St. Leo School boasts a Classical Curriculum which features traditional teaching methods. These include the introduction of Latin at an early age, teaching according to the students' developmental stage, cross-curricular learning, an introduction to the Great Books of literature, and repetition and reinforcement.
Preschool and Kindergarten Registration for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year was held February 5 and February 6. Families who missed registration may call the school and speak with Mrs. Mary Detwiler, Principal, 814-772-9775, [email protected] , to schedule an appointment to meet and tour the school.
Preschool students must be 3 years old by June 1, 2017 in order to register. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by June 1, 2017 in order to register. All children entering school must have their Pennsylvania Immunization requirements met. Please bring a record of these immunizations with you at the time of registration as well as the child’s birth certificate. If your child was baptized outside of St. Leo’s parish, please bring a copy of the baptismal certificate also. St. Leo School offers full day Kindergarten for its students.
On Tuesday, March 15, 2016 a meeting was held in the St. Leo Social Hall to share with parents the plan to move forward with becoming part of the Elk County Catholic School System. Mr. Sam MacDonald, President of ECCSS, has provided the document he referenced at the meeting for parents and families to look over.
